One of the topics of interest in philosophy, particularly in physics, is the discussion of the concept of place, its essence, and its characteristics. Throughout history, there have always been two interpretations of place. These two perspectives, one attributed to Plato and the other to Aristotle, have gone through various ups and downs. This article aims to utilize an analytical-descriptive method, relying on document-based information gathering from texts attributed to the treatises and viewpoints of natural philosophers, primarily Plato, Aristotle, and Ibn Bājja (Avempace), to demonstrate the influence of Plato's and Aristotle's ideas on Ibn Bājjah's conception of the essence and characteristics of place. Plato considers place to be an abstract concept, while Aristotle introduces it as the external surface of a body or the internal surface of the body in which the object is situated. In this context, Ibn Bājja chooses a synthesis of these two thoughts in his book. He perceives the concept of place as abstracted from the movement of objects in the external world and defines it as the external surface of a moving body
